As the year is progressing rapidly and summer is on the way – so too is the Summer School of the Irish Church Music Association.
This year we have changed the dates of the summer school and now it begins on Thursday 3 July and ends on Sunday 6 July. This is to facilitate all those people who cannot take time off from the workplace. It is also an opportunity for choirs to take a free day from parish on the Sunday and come to Maynooth to celebrate in Word and Song the Lord’s Day with great joy and festivity.
We are launching out with new ventures – New Generation Youth Choir – young people will prepare through Song and Word a special prayer on the Saturday evening of the Summer School. The Summer School will also address How do Parishes Pray when they do not have the celebration of Eucharist through input and celebrations of the Word.
The Irish Church Music Association is asking for the support of each diocese in informing parishes, generating their interest and directing them to take up this opportunity for formation.
