Forming Pastoral Areas
FORMING PASTORAL AREAS

The task of creating the pastoral areas in the diocese continued during Lent with a public consultation meeting in each parish. The facilitators (some of whom are pictured here) of those 61 meetings then met with Cardinal Brady and Bishop Clifford in early April to inform them of the outcome of the meetings.  The bishops along with the pastoral area steering team are now in the process of creating a final draft of the pastoral areas of the diocese.

It is expected that the final draft will be made available to parishes for final consideration on the weekend of 25/26 April.  Parishioners will have until Friday, 22 May to make known any views or concerns they have with regard to the proposed pastoral areas.  At that stage the bishops will make their final decisions on the pastoral areas and the official pastoral area map will be made widely available in early June.

Diocesan aim
As a diocese, we aim to be the Body of Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit so that we can live like Jesus in our time and place sharing his compassionate love with all.
