The Silver Jubilee of Bishop Gerard Clifford’s Episcopal Ordination @ Church of Our Lady of the Wayside, Jenkinstown

The Silver Jubilee of Bishop Gerard Clifford’s Episcopal Ordination: will be marked on Saturday, 23rd April in his native Parish of Lordship & Ballymascanlon where he has also resided during his term as Auxiliary Bishop of this Archdiocese. Cardinal Seán Brady will be the celebrant and homilist at the 7.30pm Vigil Mass in the Church of Our Lady of the Wayside, Jenkinstown. Refreshments will be served in the church foyer after Mass and a tree will be planted by the Cardinal in the church grounds to commemorate the occasion.

The Redemptorist icon comes to Armagh Cathedral

The Redemptorist Order are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the presentation of the Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help to the congregation by Blessed Pope Pius IX in 1866. The Icon will be brought to St Patrick’s Cathedral, ARMAGH on Monday 9 May and it will leave on Tuesday 10 May.

A host of country music stars have been announced for a spectacular fundraising BBQ and dance in Armagh City Hotel on Saturday 4th June. The compere on the evening will be Malachi Cush form IRISH TV and the event will help raise funds for Trocaire’s work in the developing world. Speaking recently, Pat McQuaid from Trocaire said: “I hope people make a great effort to support this event. It promises to be a night that will appeal to everyone, not just country music fans. It will be an amazing night of food, music, auction, raffle and much more and we are delighted that we will be joined on the night by local favourite Lee Matthews and his band as well as many more artistes. All proceeds from the evening will help support Trocaire’s good work and tickets at Armagh City Hotel (028 37518888), Gene Stewart’s Music Shop, Dungannon (028 8772 5286) and from Trocaire in Belfast (028 90808030).Tickets for BBQ and dance £30 or dance only £15.

Your input is important as the Vocations Commission plans for the future and it’s hoped that many people will make the effort to be present on the evening, to share in this important conversation.

Special Mass for the Sick and Disabled @ Armagh Cathedral

On Sunday 12 June, Archbishop Martin will celebrate a special Mass for the sick and disabled in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh at 11am.

In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the sick and disabled, their families and carers will be invited to enter the Cathedral through The Door of Mercy and as part of the celebration, the Archbishop will give a special blessing to all who are gathered on the morning.
