THE ARMAGH DIOCESAN
On Thursday 22nd March 2012 hundreds of people both young and old flocked to St. Patrick’s Cathedral Armagh for the Diocesan Faith Award Ceremony. This event was set up in order to celebrate the gifts and talents of over 170 young people who were there to collect awards for their role in their respective parishes, communities and schools. Representatives from all over the Diocese collected the awards, namely the Muiredach Cross Award and the Pope John Paul II Award in an event that has been described as “a fitting celebration for the work of young people in the Diocese.”
On 1st July 2010 a group of twelve volunteers from the Armagh Diocesan Youth Council, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity (NI), arrived in the city of Bangalore, India. This was the latest in a series of projects between ADYC and HFHNI over recent years. The volunteers ranged in ages from 19 -29 and were also accompanied by a priest of the Diocese, Fr. Paul Byrne.
