Welcome to the website of the Archdiocese of Armagh and thank you for visiting. We host this website in order to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, promote parish and diocesan activity and provide information on the life of the diocese, past and present.
The Archdiocese of Armagh, founded by St.Patrick in the mid 5th-century, has been blessed by the faithful witness of many saints over the centuries. Some of them are well known and celebrated, like St. Malachy, St Oliver Plunkett and St Trea. Most them are our committed and faithful ancestors who took to themselves the call to be witnesses to Christ in their community and world. In these times it is our task to continue that witness.
We hope as you look through these pages that you get a sense of the ways in which we serve the mission of Christ in our prayer and liturgy, building up of community, formation in faith and outreach to newcomers and to those in need.
In these pages you will find information on the 61 parishes in the diocese from Newbridge in Co. Derry, through Donaghmore in Co. Tyrone, Mullaghbawn in Co. Armagh to Mell in Co. Louth. You will be introduced to some of the pastoral services of the diocese, find out about up-coming events and re-read some of our Cardinal’s homilies and statements. You will have an opportunity to see where the many Catholic primary and post-primary schools in the diocese are situated.
As you spend time with us we invite you to pray that the people of our diocese continue the faithful witness to Christ that so marked our previous generations. We invite you to reflect on your own invitation to grow in awareness of the presence of the divine and to be committed to the well-being of all people and of creation itself.
