An evening in celebration of John Henry Newman @ Catholic Chaplaincy at Queen’s

To mark the forthcoming canonisation of John Henry Newman, the Catholic Chaplaincy at Queen’s invites you to an evening of celebration on his feast day, Wednesday 9th October.  Mass will be celebrated in the Chaplaincy, 28 Elmwood Avenue, Belfast, at 7pm and will  be followed by a talk Newman’s Idea of a University to be given by Dr Andrew Meszaros, Maynooth.  Light refreshments afterwards.

Flourish – Pastoring the Pastor @ Trinity Methodist Church

Flourish invites all clergy, pastors, ministry leaders, church staff and lay pastoral carers to attend their regional conference being held on World Mental Health Day. This event will focus on self-care for those caring for others and will consist of a key note speaker as well as 3 facilitated round table discussions. A buffet lunch will be provided and this is a free event for all participants.

Mass will be offered in thanksgiving for the life of the late Sr Patricia Madden, Daughters of the Cross, Donaghmore Convent. The Mass will take place on 11th October 2019 in St Patrick’s Church, Donaghmore at 7.00pm followed by refreshments in the new school sports hall.  All parishioners, parents, pupils and past pupils are very welcome and we look forward to sharing our memories of Sr Patricia and the other Sisters with you all.

Mass in Cathedral on 12 October to mark 80 years of Apostolic Work in Armagh!

To celebrate the 80th year of the work of Apostolic Workers in the Archdiocese of Armagh, Archbishop Eamon Martin will celebrate a special Mass of Thanksgiving in St Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday 12th October at 1pm. Many missionary priests will join for the celebration in the Extraordinary Month of Mission. The organisation was started by Miss Margaret Colgan in 1939 and has provided wonderful support, both financially and materially for the last 80 years. The needs of the Missions are still great and they range from water, food, medicines, education, transport, Churches, Sacred Items, Altar Linens, Vestments etc. All are invited to join as we celebrate this special occasion.

Hospitalite of Our Lady of Lourdes – Gala Ball 12 October @ Armagh City Hotel

The Armagh Diocesan Hospitalite of Our Lady of Lourdes are holding a Gala Ball to help raise much needed funds for new hospital equipment and to update existing equipment.  Tickes cost £65stg each or a table of 10 for £600stg.  The venue for the Gala night is Armagh City Hotel, on 12th October, doors open at 7.30pm.
