St. Peter’s Parish Drogheda
Join us in the Barbican Centre, Drogheda on 9th of July from 3-5pm were world-renowned author, speaker and theologian Christopher West will unfold St. John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body”.
Theology of the Body answers the questions of every human life: Who am I? Why am I here? How can I be happy?.
Everyone; whether you are single, in a relationship, married or in Religious life, young or old, all are welcome to attend this one off event in St. Peter’s Parish, Drogheda.
There will be no entrance fee for this event, donation only.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady to the three shepherd children at Fatima in 1917 Archbishop Eamon Martin is leading an Archdiocesan Centenary Pilgrimage to Fatima from 10th – 17thAugust 2017 staying in the Tres Pastorinhos Hotel (situated 5 minutes from the Sanctuary Square). The cost is €848 per person sharing inclusive of taxes, insurance and all meals. Coaches to Dublin Airport from specific locations within the archdiocese will be arranged. Saturday, 16 September at 3.00pm in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh, five men will be ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Armagh. They are Martin Brennan (Armagh), Martin Cunningham (Ardee), Tony Hughes (Keady), Paul Mallon (Dungannon), Eamon Quinn (Donaghmore). We wish them all the best on their ordination and future ministry and ask you to keep them and their families in your prayers.

The evening is part of our diocesan preparations for the World Meeting of Families which is scheduled to take place in Dublin next year. The evening of celebration, entitled “The Joy of Love” will include an opportunity for you, and your parish choir and musicians, to learn the official hymn for the World Meeting of Families, A Joy for all the Earth. On the night, the Archbishop will be launching the official hymn for the WMOF2018 also will also be introducing the Icon of the Holy Family. This icon, in preparation for the World Meeting of Families, will travel on a one-year pilgrimage around Ireland, its journey beginning in Armagh with us on the night of 10 October.
The evening in the Cathedral will begin with an hour of rehearsal time at 7.00pm and will be followed by Evening Prayer and sung Vespers at 8.00pm.
A special Triduum of Prayer will take place in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh from Wednesday 11 – Friday 13 October to mark the close of this centenary year of the first apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima. Members of the World Apostolate of Fatima will be present for the three days and on each of the days, Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral at 10am and 7.30pm and the Rosary will be prayed on each of the evenings at 7pm. A visiting preacher will join on the Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Archbishop Eamon Martin will close the Triduum on the Friday evening and during that Mass, a special statue of Our Lady of Fatima will be crowned to mark this Jubilee Year.
